Well, I just got through poring through Pitchfork's myriad "Best Of" Lists and made playlists out of them, using the albums and singles I actually own. I didn't do too badly.

Don't be surprised if you see a whole heck of a lot of their picks over to your left.

All Wrapped Up In Gauze

So, "Inca Mummy Girl". This happens to be one of the episodes of Buffy that I'd never seen in any form and watching it reminds of the way that I must have somehow missed the one day in Elementary School where they taught subtraction and I didn't really learn it until Mrs. Donally taught it to me in Seventh Grade. Supremely important. It's a lot like that. To wit:

- The First Appearance Of Oz and Dingoes Ate My Baby?
- The First Oz: "Hey, who's that girl?" Willow Stalking?
- The First Vague Hint Of Other Slayer Types Through History?
- Xander's Dating A Non-Demon Trend: 0 for 2?
- Full On Jonathan Appearance?

Man. What was up with that fucking goatee? Relaxing in the sun-dappled shores of Season 4, I'd forgotten how, hm, how do I put this nicely, sillily these fledgeling episodes were written. Something about the way they equate dating with "lips". I mean, they are Juniors right? In High School. Not, you know, really young kids school. Don't statistics say kids their age are already full on boning? "Lips." Tt.

Buffy, Can You Hear Me?

So, I've finally settled on a pecking order for my great Journey Through Whedon Past. See, I recently picked up Season 5 of Buffy and Season 2 of Angel (and the complete Firefly), and started watching Season 4 of Buffy and 1 of Angel in tandem, as they aired at the same times, with a bonus Firefly after each pair. Then, as I became more aware of how butchered these eps were in syndication (which is how I first saw them), I realized that i really needed to go allll the way back to Season 2, like the fourth episode ("Inca Mummy Girl") which is where I left off almost a year ago, at my last stab at a Journey Through Whedon Past. So. Now, I'm going to watch "Inca Mummy Girl", and then the rest of Season 2, Season 3, the parts of Season 4 and Angel Season 1 I hadn't gotten to yet (I'd say i was about a third of the way done with each of them), then Season 5 and Angel Season 2, and then the rest of Firefly. Which is great. So far.

For those of you wondering why Genre City is so irrepressibly late, wonder no more.

No, seriously, I do still work on my comic. All. The. Time. But give a guy a break every now and again.
